Objective: SWBAT
Students will be able to review and submit past due assignments for Computer Science 1.
A. Condition: Given access to the course's online learning management system and all previously assigned materials, including feedback from the instructor.
B. Behavior: Students will identify, review, and complete any missing assignments, ensuring they meet the original assignment criteria and incorporate instructor feedback where applicable.
C. Measure: Students will successfully submit all outstanding assignments by the end of the class period, with each assignment meeting at least 80% of the original rubric criteria.
Language Objective: Students will read and comprehend instructor feedback and assignment requirements, then articulate any questions or concerns in a one-on-one discussion with the instructor or in a written format, demonstrating their understanding of the tasks and the feedback provided.
Instruction:
Prompt: Class discussion and review - Contribute to the discussion by sharing insights, questions, and examples related to all past due assignments. Students will take a minute to write down their thoughts and upload their answers on Google Classroom.
Anticipatory Set: Students will share questions and ideas on past due assignments.
Teacher Instruction, Guided Practice & Model:
Initiate a classroom discussion on Binary messages, illustrating them as a method of representing information using just two options. Following the introduction of Binary messages to students, provide clear instructions about the day's activities.
Small Group/Centers/Independent Practice:
Students will participate in class discussions and group activities focused on preparing for the Midterm.
Higher Order Thinking Questions:
How does ASCII encoding facilitate the representation of textual characters in digital form, and what are the advantages and limitations of this encoding method compared to other character encoding schemes?
Explain the role of ASCII in modern computing and its significance in cross-platform compatibility. How has ASCII evolved over time to accommodate the needs of different languages and computing environments?
